Stone, the color of the storm

Trends

We work with Giulio Ridolfo, one of the best specialists in the world, to create a trend palette with colors inspired by the Mediterranean.

The idea regarding the stone colors is that I would like to mention some greyish tones but I do not consider that the grey itself is a Mediterranean color. In nature it is among the great colors: earths, sands and stones. I do not mean the color of the cement, I speak of a warm grey, the color of the storm or an afternoon of clouds.

It is also a versatile and adaptable color, with very neutral tones that let you speak and acquire expressiveness to the other colors with which you mix very well. It can be a sad color... and of course it’s a discreet color.

Architecture has always used them and turns to them whenever a project does not want to take risks.

It can even be boring, so to take advantage of it you have to mix many tones, warm and cold, including silver.

I like the colors of some sidewalks and pebble paths like the veneziano lavato. They are composed of small stones that together create color, as a sum of tones and with a kind of texture associated with it. It is a color of collectivity, used in public spaces such as banks or airports.

In a wall of stones, we can ?nd a mosaic of neutral and changing colors. The perception of a color is not the same under the sun as with a cloudy sky. Architecture has always dressed in them and resorts to them whenever a project does not want to take risks. For the outside and inside. They are the ones that age best when time ?ies and trends pass.

They adapt to all spaces, public or domestic, such as the Alya lounge chair, which also brings serenity with its design. On the outside it looks like a tapestry work that feels like a tailored suit; inside, it is made with latest generation foams that offer, in addition to great comfort, a good recovery and the best guarantee of durability.

When I started working on a series of colors that represented the essence of the Mediterranean, I realized that color is something very abstract, it must be associated with touch, texture, and sensuality for its perception.
