History
Our beginnings date back to 1955
when our founder, Francisco Andreu
Marti, who at 17 years old had the
entrepreneurial vision to convert his
family’s small woodworking workshop
into a company dedicated to the
manufacturing of bentwood parts,
assembling and finishing of chairs.
1957
The first designs:
Model 72
Parallel to the growth of the company, the offering of chairs was
expanded and stylized. It was in that moment that the first designs
were born, model 72 in 1957 followed by model 123 in 1963.
These first works evoked the simplicity of Nordic design that was
fashionable during the 1950s.
1960
“During this decade, the
commercial network opened
the doors to the first measures
to promote and market the
designs that were being
manufactured"
Design on display:
the first trade fairs
During these years, the company began to attend
trade fairs in the home furnishings sector such as
the Muestrario Internacional de Valencia trade fair
and later the Cologne, Milan and Chicago trade fairs.
1969
1975
Production center:
Andreu Est
The next leap was not long in coming, the company expanded its
capacity and moved to a larger factory with its own name: Andreu Est,
in Alaquàs, Francisco Andreu's hometown. A medium-sized company
that continued to grow slowly but surely.
Exporting begins
From this point on, industrial designers and also graphic
designers arrived, to modernize the corporate identity
and marketing of the company.
The founder's own international
outlook led him to create a new
company for exporting: Andreu
World, the purpose of which
would be to offer design to the
entire world.
1980
Creating a brand: Andreu World
At this time the Andreu World brand was born, the logo's original design of which was entrusted to designer
Mario Ezkenazi, a professional who had been recognized with the National Design Award. The pictogram was born
from the combination of several symbols: among them the Compasso d'Oro, one of the most prestigious international design awards,
which is tied to Andreu World's trajectory, in designs such as Cartesius and the Sail chair.
1985
Chairs + tables:
the perfect pairing
With a wide range of chairs and seating for home and contract furniture
use, the time came to expand the range of products with the production
of tables with modern lines, which were incorporated into the Andreu World
catalog. This milestone allowed Andreu World to grow in design and
position itself in terms of service and customer focus as a company
specialized in offering comprehensive furniture solutions. With this
objective in mind, the Andreu Tops production factory was opened in
Chiva, Spain.

range of products with the
production of tables with

1985
Betting on design:
the Andrea chair
A flagship chair, the Andrea model by National Prize winner,
Josep Lluscà, would signal the company’s takeoff, heralding
a new era of sophistication. Francisco Andreu sensed the power
of this seat, designed to provide comfort and which has been
exhibited in museums such as the MoMa in New York.
1991
An icon: the RDL
Every one of the processes of this piece requires absolute control
from the outset. The RDL is made entirely from solid oak and a thin
piece of curved laminate of the same wood. It is an archetype of the
universal concept of the chair, refined to the maximum. It is the chair
that synthesizes all chairs and is formulated as a structural and formal
expression. RDL is both radical and graphic. A good synthesis can
only be developed from an extreme attention to detail until all elements
are brought to just the right point. Its extreme appearance ends up
expressing a serene, calm gesture.
The RDL model, designed
by Alberto Lievore, is born.
Its manufacture expresses
Andreu World's precision in
woodworking.
1997
