Special edition focused on Circular Design® Challenge
One single prize of 20,000 euros for the best design and three special mentions
The 23rd International Design Contest of Andreu World company has started. This year, a single prize of 20,000 euros will be awarded for the best design, plus three special mentions. The competition is aimed at designers and professionals from all over the world, with no age limit, with the objective of supporting and promoting design talent, particularly among young designers and architects..
This edition takes on a special character, as it is inspired by the Circular Design® Challenge, the challenge that Andreu World has launched to the global design industry to achieve circularity under the slogan “Manufacturing a Better World”. This is a call to adopt practices such as eco-design, zero waste management, a neutral carbon footprint, the selection of sustainable materials and adherence to certifications such as B Corp, Level 3, Cradle to Cradle® or Greenhealth Approved.
“We want to encourage participants to conceive of new industrial design solutions that address all our future needs, including sustainable materials, industrial processes, manufacturing and much more,” stresses Jesús Llinares, CEO of Andreu World.
All proposals must consider the entire life cycle of the product with a clear focus on responsible use and selection of materials, as well as their subsequent use to ensure durability and a long life span. Pieces must be original, not previously marketed or published. Entries are now open and the deadline for submissions is 29 November 2024. Since its inception in 2001 until today, more than 33,400 contestants from 126 countries in the 5 continents have participated. The jury is made up of world-renowned experts in various fields of Design, Industry, Media and other fields related to creative production.
