Andreu World, on the Board of Directors of WDO 2023-2025 

World Design Organization  

The World Design Organization (WDO)® held its 33rd World Design Assembly™, which took place from October 27-29, 2023 in Tokyo, Japan. Organized in collaboration with the Japan Institute for Design Promotion (JDP), the event brought together more than 900 participants who gathered for the three-day event.

The new Board of Directors, who will lead the international organization in the period 2023-2025, was voted in. WDO brings together a global network of more than 200 organizations, institutions, companies and industrial designers that collaborate to generate a positive impact on society, industry and the planet.

Andreu World's CEO, Jesús Llinares, has been elected as one of the 9 new members of the latest board of directors composed of the president, the president-elect and nine board members, including Jesús Llinares, whose role is to offer his experience and work to strengthen the organization and its role as the international voice of industrial design.

What are WDO’s objectives?

 

As the international voice of industrial design, the WDO promotes innovation through industrial design worldwide, carrying out global projects including the designation of World Design Capitals, such as Valencia World Design Capital® 2022; World Design Talks, World Design Impact Prize™, the celebration of World Industrial Design Day and Interdesign®.

 

WDO aligned objectives 

 

Andreu World's CEO joins the new Board of Directors, bringing his experience and vision from the perspective of a B Corp company with a focus on the transition to the circular economy. In addition, one of his objectives is to work in collaboration with WDO on the "Circular Design Challenge" project, a set of actions driven by Andreu World and aimed at promoting a more sustainable design and manufacturing process, aligned with the future needs of the planet and the market.

 

The election of Jesús Llinares to the WDO Board of Directors represents an additional commitment to continue research on the social, awareness and economic impact of the designation of Valencia as World Design Capital in 2022.

 

As an international company, Andreu World and Jesús Llinares are also committed to working in harmony and in collaboration with Latin America, North America and North Africa, seeking to balance geographical representation on the WDO Board of Directors.

 

Finally, Jesús Llinares brings more than 33 years of business management experience and industrial design knowledge to the WDO Board, contributing to the organization's goal of using design for a creating a better world and supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
