We are Zero Waste
A true circular economy model that gives a second life to the waste it generates.s
At Andreu World, design means much more than just creating products. For us, design also implies acting in a responsible, conscious and committed way with the environment. That is why we have adopted the Zero Waste principle as a fundamental part of our philosophy: we throw nothing away..
What does Zero Waste mean?
It means that every piece of waste generated in our production process is treated as a resource. We recycle it, transform it or redirect it so that it can have a second useful life. In this way, we close the circle and promote a model of a real circular economy.
How do we do it?
Throughout the entire production chain we apply efficient and detailed waste management:
Recycled plastics: The plastic casings that we use are converted back into pellets, which are reused in new parts.
Metals are remelted: Aluminum, steel and other metals are returned to our suppliers to be melted down and reused.
Reused textiles and leather: The offcuts are donated to design schools or are used by small leather goods makers.
Wood without waste: We classify each part into three quality levels for optimal use: from visible parts to hidden structures.
Biomass as energy: The sawdust, shavings and scrap wood that we generate are transformed into thermal and electrical energy for our own facilities.
This whole system translates into a more conscious design, such as Alfredo Häberli's Dado sofa, which has an internal structure made from intelligently reused wood.
An industrial culture with a purpose
Being Zero Waste is not a trend for us. It is a way of understanding design and production based on respect for natural resources. Because we know that the materials provided by the forests are not inexhaustible and that we must take care of them with a view to the future.
Nothing is thrown away. Everything is transformed. This is how we design products that are created, used and then created again.
