Trees and forests: The origin of everything
Our wood collections come from reforested and certified forests
We take care of Trees and forests: as our elders taught us and pass them on from one generation to the next so that our children's children will continue to do so in the future. The forests from which we cut our timber have been harvested with great intelligence and long-term vision since the time of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which began reforesting them 200 years ago. This is how long it takes for a slow-growing tree – the kind we use – to become mature. Their culture not only provided us with a quality raw material, it also revealed to us the technique of distinguishing the wood that was specially selected to create a Stradivarius, the same material we now use to produce chairs and tables that also aspire to be exceptional.
To cut down a tree you have to look at the moon. Firewood for heating is best cut when it is waxing. But if we want to build something lasting with its timber, it is advisable to do it during the waning phase. To make a good chair it is necessary to wait for the middle of winter, when our satellite is barely visible, the sap contracts with the cold and the drying will be more uniform.

Philippe Starck says that, in order to make a project beautiful, those involved must be in love with it and share the same vision. The French designer has been a champion of ecology since he began his professional career. Sooner or later our paths had to cross and now the time has come to present his first collaboration with Andreu World. This chair with arms is stackable and is part of a 100% FSC wood seating project that we are developing together, totally sustainable throughout, and which adds a degree of innovation to our manufacturing. It uses plywood, which is probably the most sustainable because its utilization is far superior, pushing the sheet to the limit with a special mold that allows us to achieve 3D geometries.

Armchairs and easy chairs made from oak or walnut plywood. The armchair version offers two width options. The interior of the seat and back can be upholstered in a wide range of fabrics or leather.
