Supporting those affected by the Texas floods
Valencia Stool extends its solidarity mission—now supporting those affected by the recent floods in Texas. Originally conceived as a response to the devastation caused by a DANA storm in our homeland, Valencia, this stool was created with a clear purpose: to prove that design can also be a tool for support, reflection, and reconstruction. Today, that spirit of solidarity reaches even further.
All proceeds from the sales of Valencia Stool will now also be directed to aid communities impacted by natural disasters in other parts of the world, such as the recent floods in Texas.

“Its design is deeply rooted in the emotional and physical impact of the natural disaster. It appears to be a mishap, as if struck by the force of water and tested by adversity. The interwoven texture symbolizes the resilient spirit of a community rising above hardship", explains Patricia Urquiola.
Solidarity, sustainability, and social responsibility
Every time a natural disaster occurs, we should sit and reflect on whether there’s a better way to do things—so that the world we inhabit can remain livable. The DANA flash floods in Valencia, the birthplace of Andreu World, caused serious consequences for a significant part of the population. We must not forget it—and we must take action to prevent it from happening again.

We must understand that everything we do today has consequences tomorrow. Embracing sustainable practices is essential if we want a sustainable future. In the present, urgency lies in rebuilding what nature has destroyed. The first step must be solidarity—because sustainability must also be social.
“This stool is one way we can contribute, It’s made from a bio-based, biodegradable, and compostable material. Andreu World distributes it through its international network to spread this message of support as widely as possible. All profits generated from its sales will be donated entirely to this cause", says Jesús Llinares, CEO of Andreu World.
