New BIO® thermopolymer colors

An innovative material of natural origin, biodegradable and compostable

The new color range has been rigorously selected by designer Patricia Urquiola

Andreu World expands the color range of its BIO® thermopolymer with a new palette of ten colors that reinforces the creative possibilities of this sustainable material.

With this proposal, the color range includes —White, Sand, Basalt Gray, Black, Dark Gray, Clay Brown, Olive Green, Mist Blue, Terracotta, and Rust Red—selected by designer Patricia Urquiola to offer a balanced combination of neutral and natural tones alongside warmer, more expressive accents.

This expansion allows projects to be enriched with greater chromatic depth, while maintaining aesthetic and material consistency. The new colors are now available in the Nuez Lounge BIO and Bolete Lounge BIO collections, designed by Patricia Urquiola, and the BIO thermopolymer will soon be incorporated into other collections in the catalog.

BIO thermopolymer is a natural, renewable material that is 100% biodegradable and compostable, developed under strict sustainability and design standards. It has been awarded the OK BIOBASED 4-star certification by TÜV Austria, which certifies the highest level of bio-based content.

Its bio-based core is produced from living microorganisms through the fermentation of genetically modified bacteria, to which natural fillers and plant-based additives are incorporated.

The new palette further expands the possibilities for combining with Andreu World’s extensive range of textiles, enabling the creation of unique compositions that integrate color, texture, and materiality, while meeting a wide variety of spatial needs and aesthetic preferences.

With this chromatic update, Andreu World continues to advance in the development of sustainable solutions that integrate innovation, design, and environmental responsibility.
